Why We Should Talk to Our Guardian Angel

From the moment we are born, God gives each of us a beautiful and often forgotten gift: a guardian angel.

This angel is not distant or symbolic. He is real, personal, and always with us—guiding, protecting, and praying for us.

Yet many of us rarely speak to him.

A Companion Given by God

Our guardian angel is assigned to us out of God’s love. He is with us in every moment:

  • In times of joy

  • In moments of temptation

  • In confusion and uncertainty

  • Even in the ordinary parts of our day

We are never alone.

Why Talk to Your Guardian Angel?

1. For Guidance
Your guardian angel sees more than you do. While he does not replace your free will, he gently guides your thoughts and helps lead you toward what is good.

Asking for help can bring clarity in decisions, both big and small.

2. For Protection
Guardian angels are protectors. While we may not always see it, they are constantly watching over us—both physically and spiritually.

Turning to your angel in prayer invites that protection in a more conscious way.

3. To Grow Closer to God
Your guardian angel’s only mission is to bring you closer to God.

When you speak to your angel, you are opening yourself to that guidance—allowing him to help you pray, resist temptation, and grow in holiness.

4. Because They Are Already Helping You

Whether we acknowledge them or not, our guardian angels are already at work in our lives.

Talking to them is not starting something new—it’s becoming aware of what God has already given us.

Simple Ways to Talk to Your Guardian Angel

You don’t need special or complicated prayers. Just speak simply:

  • In the morning:
“Angel of God, guide me today.”

  • Before a decision:
“Help me choose what is right.”

  • In moments of temptation:
“Protect me and lead me away from this.”

  • Before bed:
“Thank you for watching over me today.”

A Friendship We Often Forget

Our guardian angel is not just a protector, but a companion.

Imagine going through life with a close friend by your side—and never speaking to them. That is often how we treat our guardian angel.

But it doesn’t have to be that way.

A Simple Prayer

Angel of God,
my guardian dear,
to whom God’s love commits me here,
ever this day be at my side,
to light and guard,
to rule and guide. Amen.

An Invitation

Begin today.

Say a simple prayer. Ask for help. Acknowledge his presence.

Because God, in His goodness, has given you a guide for your journey.

And your guardian angel is ready to help—you only need to ask.
