The Quiet Work of Waiting

At first glance, it may seem like not much is happening.

You walk into the church, and things look… still. The visible progress has slowed, and it can be easy to wonder: Are we moving forward?

The answer is yes—very much so.

Right now, much of the work is happening behind the scenes. We are currently waiting for the final plans from the structural engineer. Once those are in place, the next major steps can begin: pouring the new floor, placing the altar, and installing the stained glass.

These are not small steps—they are foundational ones. And like all important things, they require patience, precision, and care.

A Season of Waiting

This moment in our parish is not unlike the spiritual life.

There are times when we feel active, growing, and moving forward quickly. And then there are seasons of waiting—quiet, hidden, and sometimes even a little uncertain.

But these seasons are not empty.

God often does His deepest work beneath the surface, in ways we cannot yet see.

Roots grow before anything breaks through the ground. Foundations are laid before anything is built. And in our own souls, grace is often working most powerfully in the stillness.

What We Can Do Now

Even in this waiting, there is much we can do.

Every prayer offered…
Every dollar given…
Every pledge made…

…is helping prepare the way for what is to come.

In a special way, we invite you to pray this beautiful prayer written by one of our own parishioners:

A Prayer to St. Joseph for help in remodeling our church

St. Joseph, Head of the Holy Family, please pray for our parish family that God will bless us with the gifts we need to remake the poor chapel we own into a palace where the King of Kings and Our Lady, Queen of all Saints, may honorably reside. Help us to build a sanctuary of such splendor that all who enter it will be struck with reverent awe, intuitively knowing without asking, that He who is calls this His home. Equip us with the gifts we need to accomplish this goal, not because we seek our own comfort or glory but because in an age that has lost the Faith we wish to be faithful, as Pope St. Pius V admonished the Church to be faithful, to the sacred Tradition of the Mass handed down to us from the Apostles who received it from Christ.

We are not simply remodeling an old church; we are fighting a spiritual battle against modernism to rescue and renew the Church that, when it abandoned sacred Tradition in favor of novelty, traded the one True Faith for a mess of liberal pottage. Help us to be Christ’s faithful witnesses in this neo-pagan culture where so many claim to believe in Jesus but so few know where to find His Real Presence.

As you held Jesus in your strong arms when He was a boy, so lift us up now and give us your blessed assistance that we may complete this project and win this battle for the sake of Him who battles against the infernal Enemy daily for our sake. We ask this knowing that there is no one more able to help us than you who is revered as the Protector of Holy Church; in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Trusting the Process

Soon, we will see movement again. The floor will be poured. The altar will be placed. The stained glass will once again fill the church with light.

But for now, we are invited into something deeper: trust.

Trust that God is at work.
Trust that this process has a purpose.
Trust that what is being built—both in our church and in our hearts—is worth the wait.

A Shared Journey

Let us embrace this season together—not with frustration, but with faith.

Because one day, when everything is complete, we won’t just remember the finished church…

We will remember how we waited, how we prayed, and how we trusted—together.

And how, even in the quiet, God was building something beautiful.
