Welcome Home, Christopher!
Deo Gratias!
There are few things more beautiful for a parish than witnessing a soul receive the Sacraments and enter into a deeper life with Christ.
This morning, our parish family had the great joy of witnessing Christopher’s Baptism and First Holy Communion.
A New Life in Christ
Through the waters of Baptism, Christopher received one of the greatest gifts Our Lord has given His Church.
Baptism is not simply a ceremony or a milestone. It is a Sacrament instituted by Christ—the beginning of a new life in Him.
For those of us who were baptized as infants and cannot remember the day of our own Baptism, witnessing an adult convert receive this Sacrament can be a powerful reminder of the extraordinary gift we ourselves have received.
It should make us ask:
Do I treasure my Catholic Faith as much as I should?
Receiving Our Lord for the First Time
Following his Baptism, Christopher also had the joy of receiving his First Holy Communion.
Imagine approaching the altar rail and receiving Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament for the very first time.
It is a beautiful reminder for every one of us never to allow Holy Communion to become routine.
Every Mass is a gift.
Every worthy reception of Holy Communion is an encounter with Jesus Christ.
Every opportunity to approach the altar should renew our gratitude for the Catholic Faith.
This Is What Parish Growth Is About
We often speak about the growth happening at St. Catherine's. We see new faces, new families, children learning their Faith, adults attending catechism, and more people discovering the Traditional Latin Mass.
But ultimately, parish growth is not simply about filling more pews.
It is about souls.
It is about conversions.
It is about Baptisms.
It is about Confessions.
It is about receiving Our Lord in the Holy Eucharist.
It is about helping one another get to Heaven.
Christopher’s Baptism is a beautiful reminder of exactly why the work of our parish matters.
Please Continue to Pray for Christopher
Conversion does not end on the day someone enters the Church. In many ways, it is only the beginning.
Please continue to pray for Christopher as he grows in the Catholic Faith and in his relationship with Our Lord.
Consider offering a Rosary, Holy Communion, Mass intention, or small sacrifice for him.
And let us also pray for all those who may be quietly considering the Catholic Faith right now.
There may be another future Catholic who simply needs an invitation, a prayer, a conversation, or the courage to take the first step.
May Christopher’s story encourage us to pray even more fervently for the conversion of souls and never to give up on anyone we are bringing before Our Lord.
Welcome home, Christopher.
May God bless you, strengthen you, and keep you close to Him all the days of your life.
Deo Gratias!
St. Catherine of Siena, pray for us.
